The success of a person depends not only on luck but also on hard work as well. And in this case, if a person gets the benefit of favorable circumstances or equipment, then it becomes like “Bite the Bullet.”
Even in such critical situations, one who has not given up her desire to get education should give an example of Gor Pooja of a student of Viklang Vidhya Vihar managed by Shri Navchetan Andhajan Mandal – Madhapar.
Gor Pooja, who is a totally blind girl living in Bhuj city of Kutch district, was born on 7th July 2000 in the house of late Bharatbhai Gor, who was serving in the water supply department in the Army.
Pooja was not blind from birth, but lost her sight at the tender age of six months due to flooding of the brain. Yet her parents encouraged her to study without giving up. After completing her studies up to standard 10 at KVT-Raydhanpar, she got admission in Viklang Vidhya Vihar in the year 2019 and is currently studying in standard-12.
During this time she faced a difficult situation. She underwent an operation at Gokul Hospital – Rajkot in the year 2019 due to re-flooding of her brain. And due to the premature demise of her father Bharatbhai in the same year, her family was mentally broken down! She continued her studies by making compromises even with the circumstances like “Get out of hand”.
However, in her previous education, she had access to Braille books, Braille slates, etc ., which she used in her studies. But these tools also had some limitations. For example, loading and carrying heavy Braille books was a tough task. Also, using a book for reading and writing slates separately was a big problem.
But the “Orbit Reader 20” was given by Astral Pipes to help her deal with all these problems. The use of it can be facilitated her to do both reading and writing in one devise and relieved her from the burden of books. In addition, it can store educational information through BRF method via memory card. Donors reconcile with the disabled students by providing such tools. Just like the words of Mark Twain,
“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and
The blind can see.”
