Satto Mandal, a 55-year old son of Parmeshwar Mandal and a resident of Kalyana village of Darbhanga district worked as an agricultural labour to feed his family of two daughters and a son. He became unemployed when a flood filled all agricultural lands with water, and left it unusable. “We were on verge of starvation”, he says, “then we got support of dry ration kits from Astral Foundation, Gujarat.” This ration kit included 5kg rice, 5kg wheat flour, 1kg chana pulse, 1kg sugar , 1kg  salt, 1kg mustard oil and spices which was distributed with the help of Ram Narain Vikas Seva Samiti, Darbhanga, Bihar.

“We are thankful to Astral Foundation, Gujarat for providing dry ration kit and RNVSS, Darbhanga for their support at this hour of natural calamity and crisis,” says Satto Mandal with gratitude in his voice.
